Porter is a very underrated player. People really hate on him because of his contract but he’s a great fit for them. Win-win trade IMO

Porter is only 25, a good player, and his large contract will be in place while most of their core is on rookie deals. It's a pretty nice fit in my opinion.

People forget that it's okay to pay good players. Having shitty salary sucking up dollars for that 1 extra pick isn't worth it a lot of the time. Otto if necessary is actually moveable, but he's also really good.
A core + actual good players means that you also don't need for every single guy on a rookie deal to show out and trend towards a max. They can just develop normally.

The Bulls need a SF, they are going to have cap space but (similar to Indiana, Utah etc) nobody wants to take their FA money. Harris is going to get maxed in Philly, making Middleton even more likely to get paid in Milwaukee, and there's no point in hoarding cap space for 2 years for a shot at Davis, because he's going to end up in LA or Boston.
So the Bulls might as well take a shot on a guy like Porter. He fits a need, and for a team with cap space but nothing to attract talent, overpaying for an out of favour guy like Porter is the easiest way to put that cap space to use.
Worst case scenario he doesn't work out in Chicago, but he's off the books in 2 seasons by the time Markkanen and Carter are up for extensions
公牛需要小前锋，他们有薪金空间，但是没人会想要他们自由球员市场的钱，哈里斯会在费城得到顶薪，米德尔顿可能会被雄鹿开出合同，也不可能为只有两年合同的戴维斯抛媚眼，毕竟人家只想去洛杉矶或者波士顿。
所以公牛只能将目标瞄准像波特一样的人，他确实很适合公牛，一支可以填补薪金空间但是并不能吸引天赋的球队，他们也只能换来像波特这样的溢价合同来填补自己的薪金空间了。
最差的结果不过是他在公牛适应得不是很好，但是没关系，反正马尔卡宁和卡特的新秀合同也还有两年呢。

I guess they got out of salary but Otto is a really solid player, he just isn't worth that contract on a shit team like Wizards. You put him in OKC/Denver/Houston etc and he is suddenly worth it.

Wiz definitely took a dub. They HAVE to shed salary with the direction their team is going. It's not always about getting the better player, Washington has a different objective.
