The success of Kawhi this post season is directly due to Toronto's ability to manage his load all season. He only played 60 games (Lebron had an actual injury and shut it down at the end of the year and played 55 for reference).

If Kawhi leaves, it won't be for basketball reasons. I think everybody can agree that the Spurs and the Raptors are great basketball organizations. Toronto is a big market so it wouldn't be about that either. He might just want to be in LA to be close to his friends and family.

Both SA and Toronto are great organizations, and SA pioneered Load Management . My guess is that he wants to be closer to San Diego, since that is where he is from. Maybe he'll resign with Toronto for another 1 or 2 years, but who knows.

I don’t think the gap is a big as it’s been in the past. Milwaukee and Philly are arguably the third and fourth best teams in the league at this moment. With KD most likely coming to the east, it’s gonna be a gauntlet

Honestly, after this year I don't know that the Leastern Conference stuff is still accurate.
Certainly the west is deeper than the east, but the top of the east seems stronger than the top of the west right now, particularly if KD leaves the Bay. The 6-8 seed teams are stronger out west, but Milwaukee, Philly, Boston and Indy (if Oladipo returns healthy) all compare favorably to the 2-5 teams in the west.
Even with the Dubs, if they do lose KD this offseason, how confident are you that they could have run the Philly/Milwaukee gauntlet that Toronto did this year?

He is the biggest star in Canadian sports right now. I'm about 2 hours from Toronto, and there's restaurants with 'Kawhi eats free' signs outside.
I think he should do a 1+1 and then assess his options after that. Toronto is in a beautiful position to sign a big free agent after Lowry, Ibaka and Gasol expire.
Also don't put it past OG Anunoby becoming a very good player when he returns.
