Stein is pretty reliable though. He seems pretty sure so maybe he’s heard something that they’re already looking to trade him.
They still need desperately need bench so my guess is they want a bunch of role players. A good bench would help Curry more than one all star. When he sits, their offense won’t collapse. There’s no KD and Klay in the rotation, and Livingston and Iguodala are gone so they have minimal bench offense.

He didn’t say they are trading DLo asap. That’s why he said “it’s a matter of when.” He’s just seeing this is a short term move (don’t lose KD for nothing, get Curry more help while KD Is out) but they will try to trade him for a better fitting piece in the future in the likely event this doesn’t work out.

Yeah. D’Lo is a buffer for the time period. Wherever he ends up next year, I hope his year or so in GS is a bigger boost to his development. I remember when Walton was coaching the lakers, he mentioned DLo always had questions about Steph. From a pure educational stand point, a guy his age with his potential, this is amazing.

Anyone that watched the Warriors offense, or lack thereof with only Curry in game 3 and game 6 can see the need for another shot creator. He’s going nowhere, Klay won’t be back until the second half of the season at best.

Seems like he actually might be a good fit with Curry. DLo has a ridiculous midrange/floater game, is a good passer and I think Curry's gravity will help DLo raise his 3-pt%. If their plan is to trade him, seems like a solid plan because DLo will have great stats next year.

Sure, his style of play with the nets might not be a fit, but what if he were to, I don't know, practice? Maybe he could spend an off-season getting better and learning their system. Just a thought.

I think we’re all overlooking the part about Klay Thompson tearing his ACL and the Warriors being old and lacking depth at the end of the season. This gives them a day 1 starting shooting guard, someone to allow Steph to rest in the regular season and yes, a trade piece for down the road. If he is traded I doubt it’s before next summer.

The dude can create his own shot, and he is a great playmaker. That's exactly what the Warriors need and what they look for in a player.
It would be an awful look for the Dubs to sign D'Lo as just an asset. They will 100% try to make this work with Klay at the 3, and staggered line ups.
If it ends up not working out, then in a years time he will be shopped in an offseason with next to no FAs. But I have a good feeling this will workout well.

While I do feel bad for Minnesota for offering Wiggins that contract, they have no one to blame but themselves. Wiggins is also at fault for not improving the way we all expected, but you can't hate him for accepting that offer. Nobody in their right minds would tell their respective organization to offer them less money because they can't play up to par.

No one is hating on him for getting paid. The hate is because he seams to be just coasting after getting paid.

Small market teams have a hard time getting star free agents so they have to swing for the fences on young people they get in the draft. Add in the Hayward situation in Utah and it seemed like a no brainer at the time.
If anything Minnesota's biggest mistake is not leveraging KAT during free agency earlier. Then they would have seen that he could lure some quality free agents and they would probably not have done the Wiggins contract.
